Dr. Sylvia Piña-Paz is a dedicated emergency medicine physician serving patients at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center and Kaiser Permanente San Jose. A graduate of the renown Highland Emergency Medicine Residency in Oakland, CA, Dr. Piña-Paz combines strong clinical experience with a passion for education, quality improvement, and research. Experience:

Dr. Piña-Paz's medical journey began at UC Irvine School of Medicine, where she earned both her MD and a post-baccalaureate certificate. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology with a minor in Bioinformatics from UC Santa Cruz. Dr. Piña-Paz's academic work spans ultrasound education, cardiac emergencies, and skin immunology, including published research in PNAS and the American Journal of Emergency Medicine.
