Dr. Jeffrey Chien is a board-certified emergency medicine physician and Fellow of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine (FAAEM) with over a decade of experience in high-volume, high-acuity clinical settings. He currently practices at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, O’Connor Hospital, and St. Louise Regional Medical Center, and holds a faculty appointment as an Affiliate Clinical Instructor at Stanford University School of Medicine. Widely recognized for his clinical excellence, Dr. Chien has received multiple honors, including Physician of the Year and Faculty of the Year awards. He brings not only deep clinical expertise but also a commitment to mentorship, innovation, and compassionate patient care.

Experience:

Dr. Chien completed his emergency medicine residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, where he served as Chief Resident, followed by an academic fellowship at Stanford. He later served as Medical Director and Associate Medical Director of Quality at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, overseeing clinical operations and quality improvement initiatives.

An educator and researcher at heart, Dr. Chien has delivered dozens of national and local lectures, mentored emerging physicians, and published extensively in peer-reviewed journals on topics ranging from stroke imaging to patient safety. He has also held leadership roles on the national stage, including serving as President of the Young Physicians Section of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine.
