Dr. Alex Lin, co-founder of Hermes Health, brings a dynamic blend of clinical expertise, academic rigor, and a passion for mentorship to our team. A board-certified emergency medicine physician, Dr. Lin completed his residency at the University of Nevada Las Vegas School of Medicine, where he also served as an Assistant Clinical Professor. He currently practices at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center—a Level 1 Trauma and Burn Center—and has also provided care at institutions like University Medical Center in Las Vegas and Sollis Health.
Dr. Lin has a strong track record in quality improvement, having led initiatives in trauma, burn, and sepsis care. He also serves on several professional committees, including his current role as site director for the Stanford Emergency Medicine Residency and Valley Medical Center Residencies. Outside the hospital, he’s lent his expertise to large-scale events like the Electric Daisy Carnival and Formula 1 Racing, emphasizing his commitment to safety and care in high-pressure environments.
An educator at heart, Dr. Lin has taught everything from ultrasound and ECG interpretation to advanced airway techniques, and has mentored dozens of students and residents. He has also contributed to peer-reviewed research and co-authored publications in emergency medicine and longevity research.
Fluent in Mandarin and Taiwanese, Dr. Lin embodies the curiosity, compassion, and versatility that define our team.
Dr. Sylvia Piña-Paz is a dedicated emergency medicine physician serving patients at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center and Kaiser Permanente San Jose. A graduate of the renown Highland Emergency Medicine Residency in Oakland, CA, Dr. Piña-Paz combines strong clinical experience with a passion for education, quality improvement, and research.
Her medical journey began at UC Irvine School of Medicine, where she earned both her MD and a post-baccalaureate certificate. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology with a minor in Bioinformatics from UC Santa Cruz. Dr. Piña-Paz's academic work spans ultrasound education, cardiac emergencies, and skin immunology, including published research in PNAS and the American Journal of Emergency Medicine.
Fluent in Spanish, Dr. Piña-Paz is known for her ability to connect deeply with patients from diverse backgrounds. She has designed and implemented international ultrasound education programs, contributed to pandemic readiness training, and serves on the Quality Improvement Committee at SCVMC.
Her work reflects a consistent focus on compassionate care, medical innovation, and clinical excellence—qualities that make her an invaluable member of our emergency medicine team.
Dr. Aaron Johnson is a board-certified emergency medicine physician with a strong background in both frontline clinical care and EMS leadership. He currently serves at several hospitals across Southern Nevada, including MountainView, Henderson, and Boulder City Hospitals. As an Air Force Major, Dr. Johnson held the role of EMS Director and continues to practice as a dedicated emergency physician at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada.
A graduate of the UNLV School of Medicine Emergency Medicine Residency, Dr. Johnson also completed a general surgery internship and holds a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Western University of Health Sciences. His academic contributions include published research on healthcare disparities and emergency medical education, and he has presented at national conferences including NAEMSP and SAEM.
Fluent in Spanish, Dr. Johnson brings a culturally competent and accessible approach to patient care. His interests in wilderness and tactical medicine are reflected in his advisory role with Lake Mead National Park EMS and his passion for off-roading, hiking, and SCUBA diving. Whether in a trauma bay or on the trail, Dr. Johnson is committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care when and where it’s needed most.
Dr. Vincent Boyd is a board-certified emergency medicine physician who completed his residency at University of Nevada Las Vegas School of Medicine. He has provided high-quality emergency care throughout Las Vegas and the greater Southwest, serving a wide range of patients from underserved backgrounds in both hospital and freestanding emergency departments. Currently practicing with Envision Physician Services, Dr. Boyd works across several Valley Health System facilities, including Henderson Hospital, Centennial Hills, and Summerlin Medical Center.
A graduate of the University of Nevada Las Vegas Emergency Medicine Residency, Dr. Boyd brings a deep knowledge of trauma care, acute resuscitation, and community-based emergency response. Prior to residency, he earned his medical degree from Des Moines University and his undergraduate degree in Biology from South Dakota State University.
Dr. Boyd’s commitment to emergency care began early—as an EMT with the Oglala Sioux Tribal Ambulance Service—an experience that continues to inform his compassionate and patient-centered approach. Known for his steady presence in high-acuity environments and dedication to underserved communities, Dr. Boyd is an integral part of our emergency medicine team.
